Named in 1880 and proclaimed a Public Recreation Reserve, Mount Coo – tha (Place of Honey) stands tall over Brisbane, stretching over 287 metres above sea level. This famous mountain is home to the superlative views of the Central Brisbane District, in which tourists flock to every year. With only a short drive from the city and its closeness to the Mount Coot –tha botanicl gardens and planetarium, makes this an ideal location.
The facilities at Mount Coot Lookout are tremendous, with a charming wishing waterfall, fine looking gardens, great little shop for that special gift and of course the exceptional Summit Restaurant, which serves delights such as; ‘Grilled Wagyu Rump Steak sautéed diced potatoes, pan-fried mushrooms and broccolini, finished wirh thyme jus, beetroot and horseradish relish’ or ‘Seared Kangaroo Loin Infused with Rosemary on sweet potato puree, sauté of shitake mushrooms and baby spinach and a trio of pepper jus’
